About us

The love of God is visibly evident at Caraway Baptist Church. Our concern for souls is marked by the way we care for one another. Visitors are made to feel as if they have been among us all along; never uncomfortable, or ignored. We are glad for every person that enters into worship with us, and our goal is to make everyone feel welcome in the house of the Lord. Our church calendar is always full with activities such as youth outings, church fellowship gatherings, revival meetings, and VBS, just to mention a few. We have a burdened heart for the mission field, supporting over 100 foreign and U.S. missions. Our main focus is introducing people to Christ. Our message is "Jesus Saves", (Romans 10:13), and the "evidence is a changed life" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Our Beliefs

The following is a summary of what we believe at Caraway Baptist Church. We believe the word of God is the absolute authority, thus, all our beliefs flow from its pages.

  • We believe that the 66 books of the King James Version are the preserved and inspired Word of God for this generation.   We believe that the Bible is without any errors and is our sole authority for all matters of faith and practice.

  • We believe in the Holy Trinity.  That there is one God who has eternally existed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Each person of the Godhead is fully God.

  • We believe that God created the world and the entire universe in six, literal, 24-hour days as recorded in Genesis.  We do not believe in the day-age theory or any other theory that attempts to reconcile evolution with the Bible.  God created the world out of nothing by speaking his word.

  • We believe Jesus Christ is fully God from the beginning.  His earthly existence began when He was begotten by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary.  Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life.  He was fully God, yet fully man.

  • We believe He shed His blood on the cross for our sins.  He was buried, and bodily arose from the grave.  He ascended up to Heaven from whence He will return one day.

  • We believe that all men are born with the sin nature inherited from Adam.  This sin nature manifests itself in all mankind.   All men, apart from the saving grace of God, will spend eternity in Hell.

  • We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith.  Man cannot work or earn his way to Heaven. Salvation comes by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe when a person repents of their sin and calls upon the name of the Lord for forgivness, they are regenerated, immediately indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and sealed until the day of redemption. This is in no way a license  to sin, because the bible forbids that God's grace be used as an occasion to the flesh.

  • We believe the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is not evidenced by speaking in tongues, but by godly living. We believe a saved person should live a holy, sanctified life.  Worldliness should not characterize the Christian's life.

  • We believe once a person is saved, they should be baptized by immersion, join a good Bible-preaching church, witness to the lost, and faithfully serve the Lord.

  • We believe in the personal, pre-tribulation return of Jesus in the air to rapture out the believers.  After this rapture, there will be a 7-year Great Tribulation, followed by the physical return of Jesus to the earth to set up His Kingdom and reign for 1,000 years.

  • We believe the saved will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord, but the unsaved will be cast into a literal Lake of Fire to suffer conscious torment forever and ever.

  • We believe that Satan is a fallen angel who was cast out of heaven to the earth; he is the author of sin, the deceiver of man, and the enemy of God and all that is holy. He shall ultimately be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire that was prepared for him and his angels.
